Helmut is my 2nd Dane and first show dog. Living in fawn and brindle country Helmut was a breath of fresh air!! Helmut attained his Canadian Championship very easily and in short order. He did this despite the nervous novice handler at the end of the lead (for his last points). To Helmut's credit, his first time out as a Special, he was awarded Best of Opposite Sex and his next weekend out was awarded Best of Breed over some notable competition at the Alberta Kennel Club's All Breed Summer Show (the largest outdoor show in Canada). He went on to make the cut in the Group ring with the support of most of the local Dane Fanciers cheering in the background!! Helmut is now retired from the Conformation ring and went in fine style as a multi Best of Breed winner!! |

I would like to offer my sincere thanks to Peggy Mignon for her support in training and handling Helmut to his first points and then supporting me, a fresh new novice, to take over for the home stretch. It was so much easier to learn on a trained dog!!!
| Helmut has now moved onto the next chapter in his life.... Agility and Obedience!! Achieving honours in his Obedience Class, the sky is the limit for this versatile (not to mention handsome) boy. This should be a fun ride!! |
